My name is Allen W. Bridgers and I?m an inmate on the infamous Texas Death Row and I search for a true friend to correspond with, to share my life, my opinions, my outlook, my joy and my pain. A friend to put a smile on my face while I sit in this dark place awaiting my outcome, whatever that may be... I was born on the 6th of March in 1971, and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. What I love so much about my home is the ocean. My younger brother and I would go swimming at the beach every day during the summer. I also love the cold seasons, because I enjoyed playing in the snow at a young age when life wasn?t difficult yet. As I became older my life took many wrong turns but being on Death Row for over 20 years has saved my life in several ways. I?m now a different person from the person I was. When I first arrived here, I was unable to read and write, but throughout the years I?ve learned and come to love reading all kinds of books, especially graphic novels and I?ve been able to improve myself through studying self-help books. I love all kinds of music but Jazz is my favorite genre and Sade my favorite musician. Her music is always uplifting and inspiring. I once was married but unfortunately divorced and it still hurts that I don?t have children. My goal in finding friends means a lot to me, and I will share my life with anyone wishing to write to me. Many people outside have this preconceived notion that prisoners have hidden motives and agendas, but I refuse to be part of that stereotype. I?m loyal, encouraging, a great listener along with many other positive characteristics. I continue to search for the definition of true friendship, and I look forward to building a long lasting one with you!
