I'm Cameron and, before I proceed any further I just want to say a big thank you for reading this far, it does mean a lot to me. Perhaps an introduction would be better served by sharing something personal to you - let's call this an icebreaker for the coversation. I studied journalism at university. Up until the age of 22 all I ever wanted to be was a journalist. I loved writing stories, sourcing news and keeping my friends and family informed with current affairs. Upon graduation I landed a dream position at a publication in London. but the dream turned sour after a matter of months and, ultimately, I left the profession entirely. Perhaps there are some who can relate to this: discovering that the dream you had didn't quiet turn out how you'd expected it too. It was an important lesson for me. I reflected on it and moved on - and looking back now, I couldn't be happier over the decision I made. I work in a job I love, and I'm surrounded by people who I respect. What I'm trying to convey here is that I am a very honest individual. I can be blunt, but not to the degree of rudeness. I have a sarcastic streak, but I have found that it leans towards my sense of humour. I honestly care about establishing long lasting friendships with other likeminded individuals. Learning and connecting with others is a lot like learning how to swim: you have to have the courage to first dip your toe into the water, and the rest will come. I love having long conversations - it gives me an excuse to brew up a pot of coffee and put a couple records on the turntable.
